ARGO Batch Report — QC User Guide
Step-by-step for producing the DOC-1005235 STP batch report from the web app instead of the Excel macro. Written from a live walkthrough of batch E8354-05 on 2026-09-02; the screenshots are that batch.
Where: https://argo.progressivesurface.com/batch-report (VPN or on-site). What you need: the batch barcode (or ID), your inspector initials, the paper profilometer sheet (Rz) and the DOC-012 coating-thickness sheet for the lot. Everything else — ARGO plates, thermal post weights, pogo readings, powder lots, JE lots — the page pulls in for you.
1. Scan the batch
The page opens with the cursor already in the Scan Batch box, so you can
walk up with the scanner and scan — it auto-enters and loads. You can also type
an ID (separators don’t matter: E8354-05, E835405, or the full
2-IVS60RM7-E8354-05-XXX000 all work) and press Enter, or click one of the
Recent lots chips under the box (today’s most recently inspected batches).
A chip with a green check and initials already has a report generated — hover
it to see when, by whom, and the filename.

- First load of a batch takes 30–120 s (it scans the data lake across all six ARGOs). Leave the page open. After that it is cached for 30 minutes.
- Re-scan forces a fresh read (use it if plates were inspected after you first loaded). Clear empties the page and puts the cursor back in the box.
- “No plates found” means the ID didn’t match any ARGO batch number — check the scan.
2. Read the summary and sessions

- Plates found is every inspection row for the batch, across machines.
- Result pills break the lot down by ARGO result (
Good,Highpoints,Crack, …).Inspection Error/ purged rows are auto-excluded from the report — you never need to touch them. - Missing data counts plates the ARGO didn’t fully measure; they stay in the
lot count but are never drawn into the AQL sample (same as the macro’s
hidden
Validcolumn). - Sessions are runs separated by a gap of more than 45 minutes. Each card shows the date and time window, machine, plate count, and how many of those were inspection errors. A break, a run split across two days, or a rework session on a later date are all normal — sessions are information, not a problem flag.
- Expected quantity (top right) is optional: type the lot quantity and the page tells you if the included plate count is over or short.
Upstream Production shows the thermal-spray side of the same lot from the
line MES: loaded window, pickup weights, powder lot, and — when the lot is a
megalot (a coinstack of up to four sublots run as one ARGO batch) — an
indigo Megalot badge with the combined part count and member sublots.
Plate Flow (estimate) reconciles the pools: lot size vs. inspection passes, how many extra passes (re-inspections) happened, the QA-declared rework counts by category (Crooked on Wheel, Machine Shutdown, High/Low Weight, Coating Defect, Chipped Coating), and the box-label mix. It is an estimate by design — plate serials don’t survive rework, so plate-level lineage isn’t possible.

3. Exclude plates that don’t belong (when needed)
Most batches need no exclusions. Use this step only when the ARGO data contains inspections that are not this lot’s shipped product — for example a run that was started on the wrong machine and fully re-run, or plates from another batch mixed in.

- Type your Inspector initials (required — every exclusion is audited).
- Select plates:
- Whole sessions: tick the checkbox on a session card. This stages every eligible plate in that session.
- Individual plates: tick rows in the Review Plates grid. Filter by session, flag, or result, or search a part number. The grid defaults to Non-Good only, which is what QC usually reviews.
- Pick a Category (Re-run, Mixed batch, Error, Other), add a short Reason, and click Exclude selected plates.
Stored exclusions are listed underneath and can be removed one at a time or all at once. Exclusions are per inspection row, so excluding a bad run never removes the same plate’s good run. Excluded rows never reach the report.
4. Supplemental data (the values ARGO doesn’t measure)
Saving in this section also requires your inspector initials from the Exclusions box above.

Mass — thermal post weights (pick 20). The list is every post-spray check plate weighed on the line for this lot (two per cart). Pick 20 representative weights — click Pick 20 across the run for an even spread, then adjust by ticking/unticking. The selected count, min, max and spread are shown. Click Save 20 weights as Mass.
Pogo R Avg — pogo tester. The pogo run for this batch is found automatically (matching batch string; reject-binned readings are left out). Click Accept N pogo readings. If the section says no run was found, the pogo test hasn’t been run yet or is older than 90 days.

Air Rz / Fuel Rz. From the paper profilometer sheet: one row per plate, four readings each. Click + plate for more plates. Save Air Rz / Save Fuel Rz.
Coating Template (DOC-012). Click the From spray data chip to fill the
powder lot and pickup weight for the coated side (leave the other side N/A
when it isn’t coated). Then type the thickness readings from the metallographic
sheet into the Air (#1–22), Flat (#23–34) and Edge (#35–38) locations — the
labels match the sheet. Click Save Coating Template. The six coating CTQs
grade from these readings; leave a location blank if it wasn’t measured.
JE Lots. The incoming JE lots and PRG run order are looked up from the coinstack records. Click Attach N JE lots to the report; they land on the Specs & Stats sheet exactly where the macro put them.
Every saved section shows N rows saved by (initials) · date time with a trash icon to clear it. Saved values stay with the batch — if you come back tomorrow they are still there.
5. Check Batch Info

Batch Info is pre-filled from the barcode (part number, part type, build,
coater, coating type, batch, sublot). Required fields are marked *. Check the
Sampling Type — Argo (N = Auto) picks 135 or 200 from the lot size the
same way the macro did. Change A-Square Bin, Pogo Bin, codes or SPCR/SDR if
this lot needs them.
6. Preview
Click Preview Report. The tiles show the sampling used, sample N, the population (lot plates minus errors and exclusions), and how many CTQs are missing data or failing. Below is the full CTQ table with min / avg / max / median / stdev, limits, class, out-of-spec count vs. allowed, and the grade.

- NO DATA on a coating, Rz, Mass or Pogo row means that supplemental section hasn’t been saved yet. Save it and preview again.
- Lot OOS (advisory, not on the workbook) is the out-of-spec count across all accepted plates in the lot, not just the 200-plate sample. If a CTQ grades FAIL but Lot OOS is 0, the sample happened to catch an edge case; if it grades PASS but Lot OOS is large, take a look. The sample stays the graded result, exactly per DOC-1005235.
- The AQL sample draws ARGO-accepted plates only. Rejected plates are still counted in the population and fail totals but never sampled — they go to rework or scrap, not to the customer.
Any change to exclusions, supplemental data, or Batch Info clears the preview; run it again.
7. Generate and file
Click Generate & Download .xlsx. The workbook is the controlled DOC-1005235 layout with values only — no macros, no formulas, so it opens without security prompts and cannot silently change after generation. File it the same way as today (the APPROVED STP batch reports folder; megalots use the same workbook — the “Megalot Macro” template is an identical copy of the standard one).
Every download is logged (your initials, filename, sampling plan, counts). Under the buttons, N reports already generated for this batch expands the history, so a re-issue is obvious rather than a surprise. When you’re done, click Start next batch — it clears the page and puts the cursor back in the scan box.
